摘要

描述
English: Damnoen Saduak Floating Market is the first floating market in Thailand located in Damnoen Saduak district. In 1866 King Rama IV had an initiation to create a canal to link the Tha Chin River and the Mae Klong River. This canal, with many branches, is 32 kilometres long. The name then was “Lat Plee Canal” or “ Lat Ratchaburi Canal”. This canal has helped people in Ratchaburi, Samut Songkhram, and Samut Sakhon to travel more conveniently, so the people call it “Damnoen Saduak Canal” (means travel conveniently).

Damnoen Saduak Floating Market is a highly regarded attraction in the province. This market was a main trade centre for seasonal vegetables and fruits called “canal fruits” and Thai desserts which made of coconut and sugar palm.

The locals sell their products at the crack of dawn until noon. Visitors can stroll or paddle along the canal to enjoy the market, the orchard and shrimp farms.
